CUSHING COMMUNITY THEATRE: VOLUNTEER/COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITY
Cushing Community Theatre is looking for volunteers or those needing community service hours. We need help building a set, putting up flats (walls), and painting.
If you want to get started with the theatre and do not know where to start, this is the perfect opportunity for you, too!

GREETERS
Greeters work alongside GREAT Staff to help provide a positive theatre experience for patrons. This role includes helping and welcoming patrons to the venue. Greeters will arrive 60 minutes prior to the designated showtime and are invited to stay and watch the show.
STAGE CREW
Stage crew is responsible for the technical scenic elements of productions. This role includes preparing for the show (presetting scenic elements, sweeping/mopping the stage, etc.) During the performances, they are responsible for moving scenic elements for scene shifts. The stage crew will also assist with props and coordinate closely with the Assistant Stage Manager.
WARDROBE CREW
The wardrobe crew or costumers help us gather appropriate clothing for the play, and being a seamstress is a plus but not required. For some plays, "dressers" are needed for a quick costume changes between scenes.
FOLLOW SPOT OPERATORS
Follow spot operators are responsible for controlling the follow spots based on the artistic and creative concept of the lighting design. Follow spots are specialized lighting instruments designed to follow performers or movements on stage. Operators receive training on how to operate the spot for anyone interested in volunteering.
LIGHT BOARD OPERATOR
The light board operator is responsible for operating the light board for the show. They will trigger light cues during technical rehearsals and performances. Throughout the process, they will learn about light cues and how to use the computerized lighting system.
SOUND OPERATOR
The Sound Operator is responsible for operating the multimedia playback software for the show. They will be triggering sound cues during technical rehearsals and performances. Throughout the process, they will learn their cues and how to use the program, also helping to edit and gather music for the shows.
OFFICE VOLUNTEER
Office volunteers assist in ticket sales and other office needs as they arise. This volunteer position is need-based, according to the needs of the Board.
CONCESSION VOLUNTEER
We always need volunteers in the concession stand. We need people to make the popcorn, and sell light snacks such as candy and soft drinks. You will also get to watch the show for free when volunteering.
SHOP VOLUNTEER
We are always in need of carpenters and painters who can build sets, paint flats and floors, and help us create the scene for the production.
ACTORS, DIRECTORS, PLAYWRIGHTS, SINGERS
These individuals are always needed because we want to utilize experience and talent in and around our community. Please contact us today for upcoming opportunities to participate at CCT!
PHOTOGRAPHERS
Good with a camera? We always need someone to photograph our cast before and after a production for advertising and promotional purposes. Please let us know if photography is something you enjoy, because we have a job for you!
CLEANERS
Before and after each show, we need people who take pride in cleanliness to help us get our facilities ready for the next performance. This includes sweeping, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, and taking out trash. You will get free admittance to our production for helping participate in cleaning. We truly value our cleaners.
