DESCRIPTION:Sac and Fox Nation's Announcement to our fellow Tribal Members Regarding the SNAP Closure Due to Federal Government Shutdown Starting November 1\, 2025Due to the possible interruption of SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits starting November 1\, 2025. The Business Committee spoke with the Food Distribution Program Director\, and the Nation will be able to assist the influx of participants during this difficult time without interruption. We encourage tribal and community members who are living in the service area and wish to transition from SNAP to the Food Distribution Program please contact the staff either at the Stroud location or the Shawnee location for further assistance and to answer any questions. Please click the link below to access the Food Distribution Program website for the proper forms:https://www.sacandfoxnation-nsn.gov/For tribal members living outside of the service area\, we encourage you to reach out to your local food banks and local churches for assistance. We will post links on the Nation's Facebook Page of places that will be serving communities throughout Oklahoma.We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will share any pertinent information that has an effect on the Nation's programs and services regarding the Federal Government shutdown.
